Architect Engineer

Engineer with at least 8 years of experience in the same field

The Architect Engineer works closely with the Senior Architect Site Engineer to ensure the overall Architectural and Finishing requirements are carried out to the highest standards, through monitoring, reviewing, and amending both technical drawings and actual works. Previous experience in High-rise building is required for one of ECEC projects (Retal)

Responsibilities: 

1.       Review the contract documents, bills of quantities, plans and specifications before the start of the project and submit a report on his observations thereon.

2.       Reviewing, approving, and making comparative tables for the materials submitted with the specifications of the project and recommending accreditation and not accreditation unless there is an official authorization from the owner to accredit.

3.       Reviewing the inventory and approval of special quantities, excess works, savings and extracts, each in his field of specialization, as well as reviewing and approving what is limited by the quantity calculator.

4.       Give accurate directions to the observer on how to follow up and monitor all the work assigned to the controller, which is the core of his duties for all stages of the project and follow up the performance of the observer on site for all tasks entrusted to the controller.

5.       The engineer must make periodic tours of the project not less than 3 times a day to be constantly following up on what is happening on the site and give directions to the contractor periodically to avoid mistakes.

6.       The engineer shall abide by the period specified in the contract to review the drawings or approve the materials and any other work submitted by the contractor.

7.       Ensures that the project is as per the setting out plan.

8.       Ensure that the progress at the site is as per the approved schedule

9.       Inspect work done, samples, materials, and workmanship, ensuring compliance with project documents.

10.    Follow up and supervise all the inspection requests

11.    Ensuring that all materials used, and work performed are as per specifications, ITP, and method of statement

12.    Day-to-day supervision of the site, including supervising and monitoring the progress and manpower,

13.    Overseeing quality control, health, and safety matters on site; and ensuring that construction is performed as per the safety plan

14.    Coordination between structural, and MEP

15.    Ensuring that the Contractor performs his work in a manner that does not cause unnecessary or improper interference to the public, including access to public or private roads and footpaths

16.    Investigating sites condition to determine any kind of obstacles to the proposed construction during work progress

17.    Coordinating for testing of materials, processes, or systems related to engineering works.

18.    Assisting all inspection procedures with site inspectors

19.    Reports to Senior Engineer site-related issues (Daily submittals, inspection requests, Quality Safety, Progress, Resources, Risk, Material, and equipment delivered to the site)

20.    Review and make recommendations to the senior engineer of all Shop Drawings and quantities for accuracy

21.    Keeping detailed records and quantity of work done, the Contractor’s construction equipment, labor deployment, and material usage on a day-to-day basis.

22.    Preparing reports on work progress concerning project schedules and resources.

23.    Report any difficulties and other problems that may arise at the site.

Typical duties will include but not be limited to the preparation and/or modification of the following:

The Construction Manager holds the responsibility for organizing the construction sites across all Zones and Areas. Responsible for progress on all sites, ensuring, and promoting, the best construction and HSE practices. The Construction Manager is responsible for managing the construction team, as well as delegating tasks accordingly.

As part of the senior management team, the incumbent holds the responsibility to liaise and coordinate with the Program Director and the rest of the senior management team/peers with all matters related to operational issues.

Responsibilities: 

 1. Ensuring initial site handing overs are executed.

2. Developing the construction program of work and strategy.

3. Implementation of project plans to agreed timelines.

4. Rollout of appropriate resources according to schedule.

5. Maintaining status reports from the project team, analyzing progress and results, and troubleshooting problem areas.

6. Promoting safety inspections of the site when work is underway and ensuring regulations relating to health safety and the environment (HSE) are adhered to.

7. Overseeing the running of all projects across all sites.

8. Promote the use of construction management tools to plan smooth workflows.

9. Communicating with a range of people including the client, subcontractors, suppliers, management, and the workforce.

10. Plan, monitor, and finalize projects according to deadlines and within budget.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical/electrical Engineering

Responsibilities: 

Works with the Planner to ensure effective planning is carried out for Project including production of Progress/Program Reports, Construction/Tender programs, weekly look-ahead programs, and Management of the critical path.
Monitors contractor/subcontractor submittals and QA/QC and recommends corrective action when required.
Develops and writes the schedule commentary that appears in the monthly progress and similar reports. Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule and prepares and presents the Critical Items Action Report.
Assist in responses to FIDIC claim notices with respect to EOT claims and in preparation of Determinations.
Set up and control a strict regime to capture information of daily resource on site (main contractor and sub-contractor labor, plant, and materials) to help inform potential delay issues and to respond to claims, as appropriate.
Ensure a robust adherence to procedure whilst looking for continuous improvement.
Ensure program construction with correct logic and sequencing to meet contract requirements and constraints.
To be aware of and maintain an understanding of the contract documents, codes of practice, standards, and specifications.
Provide consistent and proactive reporting at project, delivery team and business level.
Committed to anticipating and seeking out Client needs both internally and externally.                  
Understand the financial implications of the methods and sequences of construction that are proposed and planned.
Able to analyze and advise project teams on program risk.
Manage all Key Interfaces at project level.
